Sport in Brighton and Hove

Leisure centres, pools, gyms and clubs across the city, with Premier League football and county cricket on the doorstep.

Brighton and Hove has sport of every kind, from sea swimming off the beach to league football. Every place below is checked each week against current sources, with a pin on the map. Opening times, memberships and prices change, so check with the club or centre before you go.

Watch

Brighton & Hove Albion play at the American Express Stadium at Falmer, on the edge of the city, with its own railway station on the line to Lewes. In Hove, Sussex County Cricket Club play at the County Ground. Fixtures and tickets are on the clubs' own websites.

Swim

There are indoor pools at the city's leisure centres, including the King Alfred on Hove seafront and the Prince Regent in the city centre. In summer many people swim in the sea; the city council's sport and leisure pages list lifeguarded beaches and safety advice.

Walk, run and ride

The seafront promenade runs for miles from Hove to the Marina, flat and traffic-free, and the South Downs National Park begins at the city's northern edge. Our map shows parks and green spaces in central Brighton and Hove.
