What we collect and why

Messages you send us

If you email us or use the submit a listing form, we receive your email address and anything you include, such as your name and details of a business or event. We use this to reply to you and to check and update listings. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests: running an accurate local guide and answering the people who contact us.

Website analytics

BrightonGo does not use Google Analytics or any other tracking service. If we ever add analytics, it will load only after you agree, and we will update this notice first.

Server logs

Our hosting provider, Hostinger, keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses and the pages requested, to keep the site secure and working. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests.

Cookies

BrightonGo sets no cookies. The welcome animation on the homepage remembers, for the rest of your visit, that you have seen it, using your browser's session storage; nothing is sent to us or anyone else.

Other websites

Event pictures on BrightonGo are copies we keep on our own server, taken only where the organiser has made them available for this use, so viewing them does not contact any other website. Links from BrightonGo take you to other websites, which have their own privacy notices.

Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with the services that help us run the site: Hostinger for hosting and our email provider for messages. We do not publish anything you send us about yourself.

Your rights

You have the right to ask for a copy of your personal information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to withdraw consent at any time. Email hello@brightonlive.uk and we will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by phone on 0303 123 1113.
