Brighton and Hove community

These links take you straight to the organisations themselves, so you always get their latest information. We do not copy posts from community groups or news sites; follow the links to read them in full.

Council and public services

Brighton and Hove has one council for everything, unlike most of Sussex, where county, district and town councils share the work.

• Brighton & Hove City Council: bins and recycling, council tax, parking, planning, housing, libraries, schools, roads and councillors.
• Sport and leisure: the council's guide to leisure centres, pools, parks and outdoor sport.
• Find your MP: UK Parliament's search for the MPs for the city's constituencies.

Not sure where to start? Whatever it is, from a missed bin collection to a pothole, the city council is the place to report it.

Visitor information

• Visit Brighton: the official visitor guide, with attractions, food and drink, places to stay and maps.
• Visit Brighton what's on: festivals, shows, exhibitions and events across the city. Many of these also appear in our events calendar.
• Brighton & Hove Museums: the Royal Pavilion, Brighton Museum & Art Gallery, Hove Museum, the Booth Museum and Preston Manor.

Business

• Brighton Chamber: the city's business network, for firms of every size, with events and member news.

Voluntary and community groups

• Community Works: the umbrella body for the city's voluntary and community groups, with volunteering opportunities and support for local charities.

Local news

• Brighton and Hove News: an independent local news site covering the council, courts, business, sport and community stories.
